The BJP has just released it’s manifesto for the elections. There are several sections in the vision document under different headings. “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat – Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” begins the manifesto and ends with the aim of “Amritmay Bharat”. The document also states that to build a modern India, the best foundation is our own culture, the best tools are our own hands and the best material is our own aspirations. These are the main points.
Part-1: Attend the Imminent: Six issues are mentioned in this part, while accusing the UPA government severe price rise, leading to creating credibility crisis of the government, resulting in decision and policy paralysis, rampant corruption; BJP proposes to handle all these issues with an added focus on creating employment and entrepreneurship along with improving poor delivery systems in the country.
Part-2: Strengthen the Framework: Center -State relations will be strengthened, Team India will be PM plus CMs, the country will be “Regional Councils of State”; Decentralization will be a major focus, participatory democracy is the aim. People-public-private-partnership (PPPP) model will be implemented. Panchayati Raj institutions functions, functionaries and funds will be empowered.
Regional voices should be included in raising a slogan, “India First!” Special focus on EasternIndia, North East, Jammu & Kashmir.
Full justice to Seemandhra, development and governance of Seemandhra and Telangana finds special mention in this section.
Part-3: Reforming the System: Minimum Government and maximum governance will be the drive of the policy. Time bound delivery of duties, other people centric approaches will be adopted. Administrative reforms will be under a PM controlled body, effective Lokpal, E-Governance through a National Rural Internet and Technology Mission, “E Gram, Vishwa Gram” of Gujarat will be spread across the nation.
There will be convergence among ministries, Judiciary will be strengthened, police and prison systems will be strengthened, modernised; Mechanism to conduct Lok Sabha, Assembly elections simultaneously will be evolved.
Part-4: Widen the Platform: 100 most backward districts will be brought on par with developed districts, Urban, Rural youth will be engaged in appropriate opportunities; Food security models will be revised.
Social justice and empowerment will focus on an ecosystem for BC, SC, ST’s; “Van Bandhu Kalyan Yojana” will focus on tribal development; Minorities will get equal opportunity, Madarsa’s will be modernized; Middle class will get new focus – education, health, housing, transport will be focused upon.
New idea, ‘Rurban’ – providing urban amenities to rural areas, improving village infrastructure will get additional stress.
Hundred new cities will be planned, twin cities and satellite townships will be developed.
Part 5: Leap Forward: A caring government will strive towards ensuring social security; Right to education, Right to Food, strong Child and Adolescent Labor act will be ensured. Senior citizens, specially abled will get additional facilities.
Young leaders program will be started, Sports Talent search will be conducted countrywide, 33% women’s reservation will be implemented, dedicated women’s ITI’s will be setup. Spending on education will be increased to 6% of GDP, SSC level education will be universalized, Massive Open Online Courses will be started.
Aim to achieve “Swachch Bharat” by 2019, Gandhiji’s 150th birth anniversary, National Health Assurance Mission, AIIMS in every state promotion of Yoga, Ayush.
NPA’s in banking sector will be reduced, NBFC regulation, conducive tax environment, GST across the country, except in multi brand sector, FDI’s will be welcomed,
Agriculture: 50% profits over cost of production will be ensured, stress on organic farming, National Land Use policy, Kisan TV channels, GM foods only after scientific evaluation
Single Window clearances, global industrial hubs, MSME revival, focus on handicrafts, branding, packaging technology, ports modernization, export promotion,
