Describing the maiden budget as ‘bogus’, the Telangana Telugu Desam Party demanded the state government to release a white paper on the inflow of state revenue. Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Revuri Prakash Reddy, senior TDP leaders also demanded Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to call for an all-party-meet to discuss the allocations made in the budget.
Claiming that the budget neglected the poor and the backward in the state, both the senior leaders accused Finance Minister Etela Rajender for ‘playing with numbers’.
Dayakar Rao said, “There was a divergence between the allocations and pledges made by KCR. This budget is prepared for CM’s son K Taraka Rama Rao and son-in-law T Harish Rao, as their portfolios received more allocations”.
Speaking to the media, Revuri Prakash Reddy said, “It was the first budget in the country not prepared by the Finance Minister, the CM meddled with it. Expressions of the Finance Minister while he was presenting the budget clearly showed that he had no role in its preparation”.
