Burnt to Death by Army, Mustafa Attracts Support from UoH

burntMustafa, who was allegedly burnt to death by the army-men residing in the Mehdipatnam Garrison, has got support from students belonging to University of Hyderabad. Mustafa, an 11-year-old boy was allegedly set afire by the two army soldiers inside the army area, could not fight the burns and died in hospital the next day.

The students protested against the brutal act and raised placards in the campus. The students met the independent fact-finding committee settled for the probe into the matter to enquire about the progress in probe. They also demanded the Special Investigation Team to declare the date upon which the official report would be made open.

A student from the campus said, “We had organised a silent protest at the main canteen on the campus. Students came out with banners and shouted slogans. The members of the fact-finding team said that they had received various complaints of children being molested by Army officials”.
