Hyderabad: AP chief minister business acumen raked 56 crore for TD during the membership drive in both states. The Telangana TD got about 9 crore from 9 lakh enrolled and 7 crore from 47 lakh members in AP.
The TD charged 100 for the parties’ active membership and 2 lakhs for accident insurance, 10% bus fare discount in a private hospital in both states with the fare discounts.
“Membership drive is still on. The party received about 56 crore at the rate of 100 per member from 56 lakh in the state and 9 lakh so far and we are sure to touch 10 lakhs”. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti, which also on large scale membership drive. It enrolled 24 lakh members in nine districts while reports from Hyderabad city are yet to be compiled.
The TRS leadership expects the membership to touch 50 lakhs and deposited 60 lakh and they collected 50 for active membership.
“We do not save on membership fee. And 2 lakh accident insurance coverage to every member. The insurance premium costs about 15 among other expenses and shell out money from its coffers”, the officials said.
The congress enrolled 15 lakh and 75 lakh towards membership fee at the rate of 5 per head on the free membership.
