The proposed meeting of the HRD ministers, Ganta Srinivasa Rao (Andhra Pradesh) and Jagadish Reddy (Telangana), which was scheduled for Thursday, has been cancelled due to the busy schedule of Telangana’s minister. The meeting was proposed soon after the minsters from both the states met Governor ESL Narasimhan on Wednesday.
Andhra Pradesh has indicated that it is ready to agree on a joint intermediate exam being conducted by a Telangana-controlled Board of Intermediate Education. Ganta Srinivasa Rao said, “We are ready to concede ground in the interest of students”.
When media persons asked about conducting exams under Telangana-board control, Mr. Rao said, “It is a hypothetical proposition. We will discuss all the possibilities and come to a conclusion.”
The printing of question papers would take four months, thus the decision in this row has to come at the earliest.
