Centre agrees to abide by the Supreme Court on appointing CVC

Sambit-PatraThe ruling BJP on Thursday agreed to abide by the order of Supreme Court in regard to the appointment of the Chief Vigilance Commissioner.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told, “The Attorney General has already reacted in the court. This government believes in transparency. We live by transparency. The Attorney General has rightly said that the process of appointment of CVC is only on and it is not completed and we will surely abide by what the Supreme Court decides”.

The apex court has questioned the transparency in the appointment of CVC and other vigilance officials. The court further said that the post should not be restricted to bureaucrats and people across all sections should be allowed to apply for the same.
