The Film & Television Producers Guild of India president Mukesh Bhatt and Apoorva Mehta from Dharma Productions, which is behind “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday and informed him of the threat by Maharashtra Nava Nirmana Sena (MNS) to block the screening.
“Rajnath Singh ji assured us 100% support and that he will convey to Chief Ministers to maintain law and order. He said he will speak to CM of every state and that ADHM will release without any violence or issue,” Mukesh Bhatt said after the meet.
The movie, which stars Fawad Khan, ran into trouble after MNS said they won’t let any movie featuring Pakistani artistes release in India.
Seeking to calm tempers over opposition to the release of his directorial venture, Johar had made a fervent appeal against stalling the release, saying he will not engage with talent from Pakistan in future.
MNS continued their protests as the party rejected Johar’s statement that he will not “engage with talent” from Pakistan in future.
