Agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy has disclosed that chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has hit him on his thigh when the decision to privatise Nizam Sugars was taken- when the state was united. “I was part of a committee which comprised Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao and others when the final decision was taken. I urged with folded hands not to privatise the NSF which was the parent unit and through which ten more units have come up. But neither the CM nor other members of the panel have paid heed to my request. Mr Chandrababu got up from his seat and hit me on my thigh, signalling that I should not make too much fuss on the issue. He made it clear that the committee’s view is final. Later he himself asked me whether I was feeling bad and I replied since he was the Chief minister, I have to follow his words. It is quite common that the governance is solely dependent on what the leader (CM) thinks and we have to follow” Mr Pocharam revealed.
Pooh-poohing at him, TD leader asked the minister to disclose how many more times he was manhandled by the present chief minister KCR in camera. “Come out with details since you are also part of the sins committed by KCR. Mr Pocharam is responsible for the closure of NSF. He should resign immediately. The government should make it clear when it is going to open up the mill totally run by NSF. The TRS government has assured this during election time as well. It cannot run away now” Revanth lambasted.
