Changes in Indo-Bangla borders

lba1_92138As part of an agreement, exchange of villages between India and Bangladesh has started on July 31, which was kept pending for the last 40 years and on June 6 and 7, an agreement was reached between the two countries’ prime ministers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bangladesh two months ago. Registrar General of India, Bangldesh Bureau of Statistics, district magistrate, Bihar, began their work. Experts said that it was a historical day as the controversial and problematic issue came to an end. In 1974 land boundary agreement was reached and in 2011 Protocol and Instruments ratification agreement was signed. As per this pact records testified that in Bangladesh 111 Indian villages, 51 villages belonging to Bangladesh were there.  Similarly, 14,000 Bangladeshis in India and 37,000 Indians were on the records.
