Chary: Changes in lives of Nomadic Chenchu Tribes

Chenchu-TribesIn Bhupalpalli S Madhusudhana Chary the Assembly Speaker said that the state government was committed to bring qualitative changes in lives of nomadic Chenchu tribes.

On Tuesday in Regonda mandal of Warangal district the Chenchu lives are changed by providing them education, housing, nutritious food and medical assistance, the Speaker said. He laid foundation stone for a safe drinking water scheme to be implemented at a cost of Rs 12 lakh at Chenchu Colony.

A medical camp of 50 doctors organised for the Chenchu tribals which is naugurated by Speaker.

Speaker informed that on January 1 new clothes are distributed to all the residents in the colony. “It is sad to note that Chenchus are still leading a wandering life far away from the mainstream,’’ he added.
Various programs for their uplift were being organized and appealed to the society members to come forward to support such activities.
Free meals are being provided to the Chenchus in the district for five days during every month by the Bhagavan Mahavir Charitable Trust of Hyderabad Regional.

Health Director Nageshwar Rao, DMHO Sri Ram and others were present.
