Chinese Troops Remain on Indian Soil though Xi Assured to Pull-back



Though the Chinese President Xi Jinping assured India to withdraw its troops from incursion in Indian border, over Over 1,000 soldiers of China’s People’s Liberation Army have remained on Indian territory. This incursion by the Chinese troops made earlier this week when about a thousand armymen entered Chumur in Ladakh.

India has sent about 1,500 soldiers to combat the incursion. An unprecedented face-off has been lead at the border.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was on a official tour to India for three days concluded on Friday, had assured the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he had ordered his country’s troops to back down from an eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation at the border.

Reportedly, 40 Chinese soldiers are also camping at Demchok.
