CigaretteCigarette firms fined $ 12 b

Canada Cutec province superior court after 17 years of litigation gave its verdict specifying that cigarette companies should take the responsibility of smokers’ health and ordered the companies to pay $ 12 billion to the victims. In 1998 smokers filed a writ petition in Canada Cutec province superior court and appealed for justice as their health was affected by smoking. The government of Canada has passed orders to the effect that the company which manufactures the brand will be held responsible in case the life of smokers is in danger. In Canada there were no ban orders on tobacco products and the cigarette companies were selling cigarettes without stating that smoking is injurious to health. Therefore the sole responsibility of smokers’ health fell on the said companies squarely.
