On Monday, Hafeez Contractor met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Hafeez Contractor, the designer of iconic buildings such as 23 Marina Towers in Dubai and Infosys Technologies’ IT Parks across the country. Earlier meeting he had in December 2014, when he offered to help the TS govt in redesigning Hyd into a city of global standards. He gave a powerpoint presentation at CM’s camp office in Begumpet on various projects, particularly near the Musi River and Hussainsagar surroundings, where the TS government is planning to build skyscrapers.
He identified some locations for the purpose by examining Google Earth maps and regarding his construction. And he also suggested designs for ‘Telangana Kala Bharathi’, an international convention centre, in the vacant land located opposite Indira Park.
KCR also requested to redesign areas surrounding heritage places such as Maozamjahi Market, Charminar, Hussainsagar and the Salar Jung Museum without disturbing their heritage value and ensuring that the new construction in these places supplemented their historical importance.
He asked to develop Salar Jung Museum as an international museum and to design parks on either sides of Musi besides parking facilities.
