Hyderabad: After failing to appoint a woman in his 18-member Cabinet, Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao has appointed 5 women collectors in his administrative revamping exercise, from the latest postings of 24 IAS officials on Monday, accounting for half the districts in the state.
Few other women IAS officers were allotted crucial portfolios and some more are likely to be allotted key portfolios in the next round of appointments.
IAS Officer of 2004 batch, Ms K. Nirmala, has been appointed as collector of Hyderabad in existing vacancy.IAS Officer of 2001 batch, Ms Neetu Kumari Prasad, has been appointed as collector of Karimnagar replacing Mr M. Veerabrahmaiah.
IAS Officer of 2002 batch, Ms G.D. Priyadarshini, serving as collector of Mahabubnagar, has been appointed as collector of Adilabad replacing Dr M. Jagan Mohan. Dr T.K. Sreedevi, a 2004 batch IAS officer, IAS (2004) has been appointed as collector of Mahabubnagar.
After failure in disbursing of ration cards and pensions to eligible beneficiaries by collector of Warangal Mr G. Kishan, CM expressed serious displeasure over his functioning and shunted him out, appointed Ms V. Karuna, a 2004 batch IAS Officer as collector of Warangal.
