Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has given his nod for creation of new districts of SIricilla and Janagama today, clearing the way for increase of number of total districts to 29. The decision is pending with regard to making Gadwal as new district.
Siricilla, represented by minister KT Rama Rao, will be carved from the existing Karimnagar district. But sources said that Huzurabad which is nearer to it will remain in Karimnagar itself.
Janagama in Warangal district witnessed series of rallies and dharnas and protestors continued for days together demanding making it as separate district. The draft notification did not spell out anything about it but government sources disclosed that thousands of people filed their opinion for creation. Bowing to popular demand, government reportedly said yes to it, according to TRS leaders.
Vinod, MP of Karimnagar confirmed about formation of Siricilla and Janagama and said the Chief Minister has taken the decision to take the governance right across to the door step of people. Public convenience is upper most in his mind, he has stated.
