Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has now focussed his attention to fill up over 75 nominated posts in a day or two with a view to motivating the second round leaders and their lieutenants in the party. He is likely to consult the ministers and MLAs on the subject. So far the chief minister had concentrated on the administration for the last 10 months.
Rao himself had made clear in the recent plenary that he would start the exercise on nominated posts, which gave room for the aspirants to start intense lobbying with ministers and MLAs. They were against MLAs getting the posts. Instead they were requesting for filling up the said posts with non-MLAs.
So far, Pidamarthy Ravi has been appointed as chairman of SP Corporation, Rasamayi Balakishan, MLA, has been given Samskruthika Saradhi chairman, Niranjan Reddy got Planning Board chairman post and Pervaram Ramulu has been appointed as chairman of the Telangana Tourism Corporation.
List is under preparation for filling up the remaining posts. Craze for the posts has been on the rise as they carry honorary pay along with protocol. State leaders were vying for State level nominated posts while secondary leaders were competing for district level posts.
MDC, RTC, BC corporation, Water Grid corporation, ST commission, State Finance corporation TSIIC, Libraries, Endowments are some of the prominent posts in the State level to be filled up shortly.
Wakf Board, Planning Commission members, Market committee chairmen, temple committee chairmen and directors would be filled up in the district level.
Telangana movement leaders, former TDP leaders who joined TRS, and those who were denied party tickets have been on the run for the said posts. They were leaving no stone unturned to capture the nominated posts.
