Air Vice-Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran took charge as the Commandant of one of the major defence training colleges in India, College of Air Warfare, in Secunderabad. He assumed the charge replacing Air Vice-Marshal D.P. Upot.
A graduate from the National Defence Academy, Air Vice-Marshal Prabhakaran was commissioned into the Indian Air Force on December 22, 1983, as a fighter pilot.
He was later deputed on various operational and instructional posts. He served as a senior directing staff (Air) at DSSC, Wellington and has commanded two flying bases, as a Group Captain and as an Air Commodore.
