Communal harmony campaign beginsNational Foundation for Communal Harmony will organise communal harmony campaign coinciding with the Qaumi Ekta Week and observes the communal harmony Flag Day on November 25. the Qaumi Ekta Week promotes communal harmony and strengthens national integration. It also provides financial assistance for relief and rehabilitation of children rendered orphan or destitute in communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence. The Quami Ekta Week will help highlight the inherent strength and resilience to withstand potential threats to the secular fabric and harness a spirit of communal harmony in its idest sense. The occasion also provides an opportunity to reaffirm age old traditions and faith in the values of tolerance, co-existence and brotherhood in a multi-cultural and multi-religious society. Union Home Ministry has asked the Central and State Governments to celebrate the “Qaumi Ekta Week” to spread the message of communal harmony and national integration. November 19, will be observed as National Integration Day, November 20, is to be observed as Welfare of Minorities Day, November 21, as Linguistic Harmony Day, November 24, as Women’s Day and November 24, as Women’s Day. November 25, will be observed as Conservation Day and several meetings and functions will be organized to emphasise the growing need for awareness and action to conserve the environment.
