Communal Violence Bill to be discussed in Lok Sabha today

Communal-Violence-Bill-to-bLok Sabha will likely hold a debate on communal violence, which was demanded by the Congress and brought Rahul Gandhi to the well of Lok Sabha in protest last week.

As per the media reports, about 600 incidents of communal violence took place in Uttar Pradesh alone after the swearing-in of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.

Congress is striving to strengthen the opposition by getting together other parties like SP, BSP and TMC under its banner. The unusual aggression of Rahul Gandhi witnessed in Lok Sabha was an attempt to rally these parties behind it on several another issues.

Mr. Gandhi while protesting in the well of parliament, made a statement that made the ruling party go burst on him. Mr. Gandhi said, “We are not being allowed to speak in Parliament…there is a mood in Parliament that only one man’s voice counts for everything in this country”.

The leader of the left, Sitaram Yechuri said, “Data from the Home Ministry says that 623 communal violence cases have been reported after the Modi government came in to power. Most of the areas where the violence has taken place will go to the polls soon. This is aimed at gaining votes.”
