Compensation to Victims for loss or Injury as a Result of Crime.

Compensation-to-victimsHyderabad: Government of Telangana has increased compensation to victims for loss or injury as a result of crime. The Victim Compensation code, 2015 with effect from April 1.
The 357A of the code of criminal procedure 1973 inserted by criminal procedure code act 2008, all state government are required to prepare a scheme.
Accordingly, the government will pay Rs 2 lakh for victims of rape, Rs.3 lakh, Rs.2 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh to people aged 40 years and below, above 40 and upto 60 years.
In the case of permanent disability (80 per cent and more), the amount would be Rs. 2 lakh, Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 50,000 for different ages, respectively. For partial disability (up to 80 per cent), the compensation will be Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000 and for loss of a limb or part of body due to acid attacks, irrespective of age, Rs. 3 lakh.
For loss or injury causing severe mental agony to women and child victims in cases like human trafficking, kidnapping, molestation and the like, it will be Rs. 50,000, the Government Order said
