Concern over Jaya’s health increases, UK doc examines her

jjaDr. Richard John Beale, Consultant Intensivist at the London Bridge Hospital has arrived in Chennai this morning and straightaway drove to Apollo Hospitals where Chief Minister J Jayalalitha is battling with dehydration and other complications. He examined her this morning amid increasing concerns of deterioration of her health. Apollo Hospitals has brought him in as he is an internationally renowned specialist.

Meanwhile, DMK president M. Karunanidhi urged the State government to clarify on the health condition of Ms. Jayalalithaa and put an end to speculation, and the agony of her party cadres.

A week has gone by since the Chief Minister is hospitalized, the state governor has visited her. Her party cadre is in deep anxiety, he stated.

He recalled that details of the health condition of M.G. Ramachandran, when he was in Apollo Hospital in 1984, were regularly released by the then health minister H.V. Hande.

Following Karunanidhi’s remarks, the in-charge governor of the state Mr Ch Vidyasagara Rao who is also Governor of Maharashtra has rushed to Chennai.

Mr Karunanidhi also cited media reports that the Chief Minister’s friend Sasikala and advisor Sheela Balakrishnan were functioning as her proxies like her shadow. “The government cannot afford to ignore such reports because the Constitution of the country should not be allowed to be misused,” he said.
