Clarity is missing in the BJP circles over the decisions taken by the KCR government. The Swachh Hyderabad programme has brought together slightly both the Rose and Lotus parties, which were against each other till recently. However, two different arguments are heard in the saffron party. There are two sections in BJP. One section is in favour of attending the Swachh Hyderabad and another one says No to it.
It is evident that the said programme drove the BJP leaders into a dilemma. The prestigious scheme was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and any comment against it is bound to go against the interest of the party high command. On the other if they supported the programme the party leaders here have to accept the decisions of the TRS government.
Earlier, BJP commented that the TRS government did not make them a part of the popular Swachh Hyderabad. On the other some saffron leaders, after invitation from the government participated in the programme accompanying the chief minister. Though practically these leaders were attending the programme apprehension is being entertained by them whether they would land in the government trap.
But the BJP cadre is at a loss to understand what is up the sleeves of their leaders as their State party specifically flayed the TRS for organising the said programme with an ulterior motive to gain in the ensuing election of GHMC. On the whole reaction by the State leaders is different from their national leaders on government programmes.
This has given rise to much and much misunderstanding. Central ministers Venkiah Naidu and Dattathreya spoke in praise of TRS government while State president of BJP Kishan Reddy, Floor leader Laxman were criticising the programme. But Chintala Ramchandra Reddy and N V S S Prabhakar were moving as per the trend.
The lower level leaders are annoyed over the double standards being followed by their senior leaders. Further, saffron leaders’ reaction over the land in OU campus is also different. While Dattathreya endorsed construction of houses for poor, Kishan Reddy opposed it.
Lack of coordination among the leaders is clearly seen. Besides, distance between both the parties is increasing by the day as TRS leaders and ministers chose to consult the leaders of BJP high command without first taking into confidence the local BJP leaders.
