With the Education Minister of AP Ganta Srinivas Rao, saying that the dates for the EAMCET and Intermediate exams would be announced within the next two or three days, the prevailing confusion came to an end.
Both the governments were under pressure from the parents and students over the announcement of the schedule of the exams.
The Telangana government has termed the conduct of common exams as impossible. The matter was referred to the law department for legal advice.
The TS Education Minister said that the AP Reorganisation Act, mentioned only the conduct of common admissions, but not common exams. So, the decision of the TS to have its separate exams was justified.
He also said that there would not be any loss to the students, since they were maintaining 15 per cent seats for the AP students, and the existing scheme and pattern of counseling would be followed.
