Opposition in the State, Congress and BJP have attacked the TRS government fiercely over the recent lathicharge on farmers agitating over power issues in Narsingi, Medak. Congress chief Ponnala chose to display graphic images of injured farmers and raised serious questions over the intentions of the government in attacking “anna daata”. Over 120 farmers have committed suicides after the TRS government rule has started in the State, Ponnala pointed out. TRS is focussing on dragging personal issues of Congress leaders and on unnecessary politics, instead of protecting the interests of public who gave them power, said Ponnala.
State BJP chief Kishan Reddy also spoke on the issue. He brought few farmers who were hurt in the lathicharge incident at Narsingi. The farmers too have said that their concerns were genuine but the State’s physical outburst on them was completely unwarranted. Kishan Reddy felt that CM KCR’s actions are similar to that of Nizam King’s atrocities on Telangana.
Students, on the other hand, representing NSUI, PDSU and ABVP unanimously gave a Bandh call in the Telangana University in Nizamabad on the occasion of CM KCR’s visit there. Students resorted to road blocks demanding immediate announcement of job recruitment and cancellation of regularization of contract employees scheme announced by the CM recently. Police have made several arrests at the Telangana university. Similar protests were made at Osmania University in Hyderabad too.
Will the CM make any comments on this rising opposition at Nizamabad?
