‘Congress Free Karnataka’, Call Amit Shah

After facing a strong rejection in the by-polls held across the country, the national president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Amit Shah, on Wednesday called for a ‘Congress free Karnataka’.

Amit Shah is on his maiden visit to the state after assuming the powerful post in the party.

He was talking following the foundation stone for the construction of a martyrs’ memorial at the village, where 200 people were allegedly killed by the henchmen of the Nizam of Hyderabad in 1948 for hoisting the national flag and seeking unification with India.

The BJP sources reveal that Amit Shah’s visit is a part of a multi-pronged strategy that aims to strengthen the party both in Karnataka and neighbouring Telangana, by using the Gorata struggle as a ladder.
