Yesterday’s counting of the MPTC, ZPTC, generally understood as the reflection of the rural mindset, has given an ambiguous statement.
The ZP’s have favored TRS, among the four districts of Northern Telangana, except Warangal, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Nizamabad have given TRS clear majority. Nalgonda, Mahabub Nagar, Rangareddy favored Congress, though TRS too put up a good fight in Mahabub Nagar and Rangareddy. Warangal ZP is claimed by Congress. Khammam favored TDP, giving the yellow party the lone ZP in Telangana. TRS failed in claiming even one ZPTC in Khammam. Medak ended up giving equal seats to both Congress and TRS – 21 each. In total, Congress has claimed 175 ZPTC’s and the TRS claimed 191.
Congress claimed majority MPTC seats, but the Mandal Parishads may present a different final result. Of the total 6480 MPTC’s 2352 are claimed by Congress, in a clear majority compared to TRS’s 1857. TDP claimed 1040 MPTC seats. From the total 440, of the already declared Mandal Parishads, 118 are taken by TRS, while Congress has taken hold of 133.
