Congress opts out too from Allagadda Race

Bhuma-Akhila-PriyaFollowing the path of the Telugu Desam Party, the Congress avoided to field the candidate from Allagadda assembly seat for which the by-election is due on November 8.

The district committee of Kurnool Congress took the decision in a meeting with the district officials and informed the same to the party high command. The PCC chief of AP Raghuveera Reddy informed the media on Tuesday.

With this move of Congress, the by-poll looks a formality to be completed. YSR Congress Party fielded Bhuma Akhila Priya, 26-year-old daughter of demised MLA Shobhanaghi Reddy, to try out to retain the seat of her mother.

Shobhanagi Reddy died in a mishap two weeks before general elections held in May this year following a road mishap. Later, the demised leader’s name had contested in the election and won with a huge majority.
