The Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday made a strong pitch for women’s reservation bill in Parliament and state assemblies, saying that her party will pressurize the ruling NDA to pass the bill as soon as possible.
Sonia Gandhi, while addressing the Mahila Congress Conference in Delhi, said, “We had done so much but still people got misled as some persons laid a trap. Our work, our achievement got aside and those showing false dreams marched ahead”.
Mrs. Gandhi also accused the government for stealing the developmental schemes of UPA government.
She also reminded that women empowerment was a main priority of Congress led UPA government, and it has followed the footprints of Late Rajiv Gandhi. August 20 is also the birth anniversary of former PM and husband of Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi.
