Mr. Advani said, “The massive campaign carried out under the leadership of Narendra Modi also contributed to the victory. But the biggest contribution was from our Opposition… Had they not committed so many grave errors and had people not witnessed so much corruption in the last 10 years, then probably this kind of result would not have come”.
BJP acquired absolute majority with 282 Lok Sabha seats, forming the maiden full-majority non-congress government in Independent India.
Mr Advani led a small fraction of BJP leaders last year, who initially opposed the party plan to commend its campaign to Mr Modi, and then to announce him as its prime ministerial candidate. They were over-ruled.
Earlier, the ideological master of BJP, the RSS chief said that the victory is not just a man’s triumph but it came as a result of the common man’s zeal for change.
