On February 7, The Telangana Congress will organise a huge rally from Gandhi Bhavan to Raj Bhavan to protest against the proposed shifting of the Secretariat and Erragadda Chest hospital. On the same day, during a press meet TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah announced “We have been warning the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao not to disturb existing structures and offices under the pretext of vaastu. Since he is going ahead, we decided to protest against it till the government withdraws its moves.
To rebuild Telangana into a golden state, it doesn’t need to move all existing structures or demolish them to suit the CM’s superstitions. Mr Ponnala added the move to shift the offices will be strongly resisted as the people of Telangana will suffer the most
The TPCC president said “We will take out a huge rally on February 7 where partymen across Telangana will participate. We will meet the Governor and submit a memorandum against shifting of the Secretariat.”
Mr Ponnala asked “If a CM talks like this about the state capital, how can we expect foreign investments and top industrialists to invest in Hyderabad?”
