The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti demanded an unconditional apology from the Telugu Desam Party leader A Revanth Reddy through allegedly insulting womanhood by throwing accusing Nizamabad MP K Kavitha on baseless grounds of registering twice in the recently held Household Survey. The legislators of TRS accused Revanth Reddy for indulging in ‘character assassination’.
TRS MLA, G. Sunitha said, “It is character assassination and disrespect to women. He insulted women with his allegations. He also said new members of the House may not understand the Budget. He totally disrespected women,” she said.
Surprisingly, Congress comes came forward in support of archrival TDP and suggested that demand of apology is unnecessary while a mere withdrawal from statement is enough.
“Every question asked by a member may not be right. The member can withdraw his statement and we can continue with the Budget discussion,” said Congress leader M. Bhatti Vikramarka.
Earlier on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy had accused K Kavitha for being registered as a citizen from two places, Hyderabad where she actually lives and Nizamabad where her in-laws house is located.
