Congress wins more seats than Left in Bengal

CongressSurprisingly, the Congress has won more number of seats than its alliance partner CPI (M) in West Bengal. The Congress which ruled the state nearly 30 years back, has registered victory in as many as 35 seats whereas the Marxists, who ruled the state for 20 years continuously, managed to bag just 27 seats. The fall of comrades is being interpreted as death-knell. Now Congress becomes the principal opposition party in the state Assembly.
