Congress woes increase with Hague statement

Congress is already finding it difficult to manage a respectable result in the upcoming general elections. The leadership worries are on one side and on the other side are the headaches of alliances. Start ups like AAP, corruption allegations from all around are also adding to these woes. The latest bomb is the admission by the UK Foreign Secretary William Hague of having played a role in the Operation Blue Star. The BJP has been raking up the Golden Temple assault and ’84 riots whenever it is mentioning the Gujarat massacre. Rahul some time back inadvertently accepted to the role of some Congress leaders in the anti sikh riots though Indian courts so far have not convicted any leaders.

AAP’s Kejriwal recently demanded for a SIT again on the contentious issue. Though his move has been received as a step to consolidate his vote bank in Delhi, it has definitely brought the issue back in the glare. Under the conditions, the admittance of the UK of having advised Indira Gandhi government in the Golden Temple attack, is going to hit Congress very hard.

On the other hand, The Golden Temple Ákal Takht Chief Guru Charan Singh, demanded that the UK governmnt come to the Temple and apologize. “This is most shameful for UK government since it has now admitted having advised the Indian government on killing of innocent devotees. Its head should tender unconditional apology at the Golden Temple,” he said.
