Hyderabad police decided to act tough on Hindu Right-wing activists, who intimidate to hinder Valentine’s Day celebrations. Senior police officers said adequate police forces will be set up at various places, including at major parks. And they also said that they will not allow anybody to take law in hands.
If any disturbance prevailed then they will be arrested and booked. The police asked couples to file a police complaint if they face any inconvenience from miscreants. Couples can dial 100 to alert cops if they are in danger.
The Communist Party of India claimed a complaint against the Right-wing groups, who had asked lovers not to celebrate Valentine’s Day to Hyderabad police commissioner Mahender Reddy. A senior police official said “In the past years, all they were doing was creating a drama by fixing up weddings of their own people, or couples who are ready to wed. They know if they attack normal couples, police will take action. We hope the same happens this year. However, if they cross the limit, we will book cases and arrest them.”
