Screen Shot 2016-02-06 at 12.06.45 PMFormer minister Danam Nagender announced that he will be resigning to the post of president of Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee owning moral responsibility to the severe drubbing the party faced in the GHMC polls. The party ended up with just two seats in the 150-member strong council, down by over 40 seats compared to last time- which of course, when the state was united. Danam blamed internal squabbles for the debacle. “though I was not entrusted full responsibility, I did my best.  Conflicting interests led to the defeat. There were reports doing rounds earlier that he was in touch with TRS leadership and may join before the elections itself. But for reasons not known, he stayed in Congress .
