Dasara not for poor?

__VARIOUS_FOOD_GRAIN_20941gA public demand is very much on the cards urging the government to bring down the sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities for celebrating the Dasara and Deepavali with joy. In short prices have pushed people to go for ‘food holiday’ instead of a delightful festival. Almost all grains and sweet oil hit double century rates even as the house-wives shed tears due to onions till recently. All
types of dals – red, tur, Bengal are beyond the reach of common man. Even petty vegetables are costing more than in last month. Rice,
jaggery, sugar, oils and prices of other essential commodities have shot up by more than Rs 50. The air of expectancy is such that people opt for non-veg as it is said to be more economical than a veg meal. This is not just a cry confined to the TS but people across the
country are experiencing the same problem. Experts said that this unusual situation arose due to deficit rainfall.
