Death penalty for Anuhya killer

The Mumbai Sessions Court has sentenced hang to death to the accused
Chandraban for murder of Anuhya, a software engineer from
Machilipatnam, working in TCS in Mumbai. She was murdered on January
5, 2014 after rape by the accused, who was punished under IPC Sections
302, 376, 201. She reached Mumbai from Machilipatanm and was missing
after landing at the railway station. The accused took her from the
railway station saying that he was a cab driver and carried her away
on a bike to a secluded place in Bhanduv on Kunjumarg. After raping
her he strangled her neck despite appeals from her to spare her life
while surrendering her ornaments. Later, the accused doused her body
with petrol and torched in a horrible manner.
