TRS Chief KCR is learnt to have accepted the merger of his party with Congress in his recent meetings with Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. The news is revealed by none other than Congress general secretary, party in charge of thestate, Digvijay Singh. He gave out this crucial information to newsmen after the Seemandhra leaders had a long discussion with him over several issue. “We are happy that Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao has met AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and the vice-president Rahul Gandhi and has indicated about the merger of TRS with the Congress. The details will be worked out,” Digvijay said.
This will be a game changer for the region as Congress will now be at a liberty and will have enough space to work out a strategy to get Seemandhra back in its hold. With or without the chances of Kiran forming a party, it will be very crucial for congress to gather as many seats as possible from Seemandhra and keep as many voters with the party as possible to stake a claim later in the Center. With Telangana firmly in the hands of able person KCR, Congress can now look to consolidate elsewhere.
But the proposal might change as KCR will land in Hyderabad today and will hold key party meetings in the coming days.
