The Digital Locker would be linked to the Aadhaar card and citizens could store their govt issued documents and certificates on the cloud said R.S. Sharma, secretary, department of electronics and IT. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is developing the security and software for this application.
“There is no security concern because the safety option features data encryption of the highest level. It will be protected by a One-Time Password, which will be sent to the user’s mobile each time he tries to access his cloud account, similar to a banking transaction. There is no issue of government scrutiny because the certificates stored are issued by the government departments,” said a senior C-DAC official involved with the development of the Digital Locker.
