Dilaram Bungalow, in Gujarat Renovated into Vivekananda Memorial

The Dilaram Bungalow which is 150-year-old, was shut down for renovation since the last 6 months, will be opened to the public next week. The Swami Vivekananda memorial will be inaugurated on October 28 by Swami Vagishannandji, vice president of the Ramkrishna Math and Mission.

Secretary of Ram Krishna Mission, Swami Nikhileswarananda said that this will be the third memorial of Vivekananda in Gujarat.

Rs.1 Crore was spent for the renovation of the building, out of which Centre provided Rs 62 lakhs while the rest was raised by donation. The bungalow was handed over to the Ramkrishna Mission by the Gujarat government.

Vivekananda had stayed in the heritage bungalow from in the year 1892, April 24-26 on his visit to Baroda.
