Dilemma over twins’ operation

vv11The dilemma over Vani-Veena twins’ operation still continues. London doctors, who arrived here in February said that the operation is quite possible but they suggested that the twins be sent to London for operation which would be conducted in five stages in eight months at a cost of R 10 crore. Government also approved their proposal and gave green signal. Later on government invited an advice from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on the proposal of London surgeons. AIIMS surgeons came forward to perform the surgery as they have the requisite infrastructure and asked the government to send the twins to Delhi for examination. The healthy ministry instead wrote to AIIMS requesting the surgeons to come to Hyderabad for performing the surgery and they are landing here as proposed and are expected to review the situation in the Nilofer hospital where the twins were admitted. A clarity on the surgery can be expected only after AIIMS’ surgeons examination. However it is not clear the intentional of the government.
