The opposition Congress came harsh on government’s decision to send more representatives to Singapore and Malaysia. Mohammed Ali Shabbir, the Deputy CLP leader in Telangana Legislative Council said that the CM KCR is acting more like an ambassador of Singapore than taking up his responsibilities sensibly.
He asserted that Singapore model could not be implemented in the state as there is a huge variation of resources in Singapore and Telangana.
He said that Telangana doesn’t have a coastline and its economy is depended upon agriculture while Singapore has one of the busiest coastlines in the world.
He also accused that may be KCR has a plan to make Telangana a gambling hub of India in the lines of Singapore, which is the world’s third largest gambling market after Macau and Las Vegas.
“Nearly 23 per cent of the Singaporean citizens are foreign born. If KCR wants to adopt Singapore model, then he must change his stand on pre-1956 condition for nativity,” he mocked.
