This Diwali, its double dhamaka for thousands of workers of Singareni Collaries (SCCL) as the management has announced double bonus for them. In addition to the latest special bonus of 23 per cent, they would get the usual annual Diwali bonus of Rs 54,000/ each. Both account for nearly Rs 97,500/, according to estimates. This is the minimum and for higher cadre employees, the amount they receive would be more.
The state government, while reviving the Dependent Employment Scheme, has also announced 23 per cent share of the profits to the workers. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao while clearing both the proposals, has also stated that the more the coal production, the more the incentives would be.
The Chairman and the Managing Director Mr Sridhar said the double bonus was already credited to the accounts of the miners on Friday. “ Each employee will get Rs 43,500 as special incentive as per Chief Minister’s announcement of 23 per cent. Another Rs 54,000/ as Diwali bonus. So, each worker will get a sum of Rs 1 lakh and I request all Singarenians to make better use of the amount. A total of Rs 560 crore was credited towards bonus for all the workers. This is highest amount ever” Mr Sridhar said.
