DRDO to be named after Kalam

dr-apj-abdul-kalam_650x400_51444747183-300x184Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will rename the country’s prestigious missile complex DRDO in Hyderabad as “Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex”. The event will take place at Research Centre Imarat
on October 15 on the occasion of the 84th Birth Anniversary of the “Missile Man”. He had joined DRDO in 1982 and worked for it for two decades. DRDO comprises Advanced Systems Laboratory, Defence Research and Development Laboratory and Research Centre Imarat which is considered to be the brain child of Kalam. As founder Director Kalam
steered RCI as a generator of critical missile technologies. Parrikar will also inaugurate Outdoor RCS Test Facility, “ORANGE”, at Dundigal and Kautilya Advanced Research Centre at RCI, Hyderabad.
