Air Chief Marshall Arup Saha has admitted the recent drug trafficking episode has brought unmitigated shame to the Force. Speaking on the occasion of Air Force Day, he said_- “It does bring bad reputation; we’re very concerned. We’ve investigated deep into the matter and are taking a lot of steps”.
Stating that it should’ve been detected it by ourselves, much before it came to this shame, he said a full-throttled investigation is already underway.
Wing Commander G Rajasekhar Reddy was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in coordination with Nanded Police on Monday, seized 231 kg of the banned narcotic drug amphetamine, worth about Rs 45 crore, from Hyderabad and Bengaluru and arrested three persons including a research scientist Venkat Rama Rao and his wife.
Reddy, posted at Air Headquarters in Delhi, was the alleged “kingpin” of the racket and his purported involvement was revealed after the questioning of the duo in Hyderabad.
On the preparedness for attack post surgical strikes, Raha said- “we are getting smarter and smarter and are fully prepared for any contingency.
