Dr. Rajaiah, the Deputy Chief Minister and the Health Minister of Telangana has plans to take surprise visits to the government hospitals. On Monday night, he visited Osmania General Hospital to boost the morale of the patients, doctors and the staff. Though the visit was planned and the administration of the hospital was aware of it, the next visits to the government hospital by the Deputy CM would be surprising.
Recently, the state government sanctioned Rs. 100 Crore for hospitals, which includes Rs. 30 Crore for wards upgradation and Rs. 70 Crore for infrastructure. Speaking about the plan, Dr. Rajaiah said, “This money has to be utilised by March 2015. To ensure that it is properly utilised, there will be surprise inspections to verify needs and use the money as per requirements.”
Dr. Rajaiah, a diabetic patient, will himself undergo tests in the hospital on Tuesday. “I am going to undergo tests here to check their efficiency”, said the Deputy CM.
