Nizamabad: In the turmeric market, businessmen and middlemen have formed a syndicate in the market yard here depriving support price for the farmers through online system’s Harish Rao had launched the new e-marking by using the technology to improve the direct marketing without middlemen and support price for turmeric drastically. And price of turmeric per quintal fell from Rs 9,500 to Rs 8,180 in the past 15 days.
Turmeric crop is raised in 54,587 hectares and in Nizamabad, cultivating land is 27,500 hectares. Middlemen have opened online accounts and lowering turmeric price systematically in the e-auction by reducing Rs 100 each day in the past.
The cultivation land is 50,000 acres to 30,000 acres in the district. According to the report production of turmeric per acre is 20 quintals to 10 quintals and sells depends on e-marketing system.
As past 10 years as they were unable to repay them in the absence of support price. They also urge the government to soon set up the turmeric board to justice them.
