Hyderabad: Deputy minister and minister for education kadiam Srihari expressed about the universities in the state. Srihari said that many universities have not secured the UGC recognition under the 12(b) and do not have adequate faculty, proper infrastructure and lack of funds for research work.
Stating that majority of universities do not have vice-chancellors, he said that they would take all measures for filling the posts and constitute a search committee at the earliest and promised to fill all posts in the universities.
Recollecting the role of the universities in the statehood movement ,minister for finance Etela Rajender said that the dream of transforming the state into golden Telangana and other officials strive to secure UGC 12(b) recognition to satavahana University.
State Cultural Council chairman and Manakondur legislator Rasamayi Balakishan hailed the students role in the statehood movement. Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, Peddapalli legislator.D Manohar Reddy, Higher Education Council chairman Papi Reddy, Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad, Vice Chancellor K Veera Reddy and others were also present.
