Hyderabad: The extension of deadline for regularisation of land in Telangana has failed to create a brunt. Many applications are being received in large number only for ‘free regularisation scheme for the poor’ of sites less than 125 sq.yards.It has ‘payment category’ which can generate huge revenues for the government.
And the deadlines expired on Jan 19; extended deadline till Jan 31 and payment category till Feb 28. Nearly, 2.31 lakh applications were received under the free category, while only 9,000 aplication were received for the payment category. The government has earned only Rs 57 crore under the payment category.The 25% registration fee to submit applications with target 5,000 crore.
The government has decided to take up awareness programmes on large scale cross the state asking people holding people plots above 125 sq yards to apply for regularisation before the deadline or face action later.
And all the officials also visiting all colonies and inform people that those who failed to submit applications before the deadline will be treated as encroachers and the government. And final chance to get their lands regularised and they will lose their properties if they fail to do it.
