Facebook shuts down Free Basics in India

mark-ZukerbergTwo days after TRAI’s decision on net neutrality, online giant Facebook has shut down its Free Basics project in India. Free Basics is no longer available to people in India, a spokesperson of Facebook informed.  But it continues the project in 30 countries across the globe.

It is widely criticized that Free Basics only allows access to selected websites it violates the principle that the entire Internet should be available to everyone on equal terms.
